The half-tube sheath reactor provides good heat transfer for heating or cooling tank contents. The half pipe is welded to the outside of the tank to allow hot oil or steam to flow along the outside of the tank to provide good heat transfer for the contents of the tank. It can be cooled in the same way with cold water. Half tube jackets are ideal for cooling water, steam, hot oil and heat transfer fluid applications in high pressure or high medium flow environments. For design reasons, they allow for thinner inner shell walls. The thinner housing allows for superior heat transfer performance. We can supply pressure vessel reactors with a variety of half-jacketed configurations to meet your specific heating and cooling needs. Our half-pipe jacketed pressure vessels and reactors can be designed and manufactured in strict accordance with ASME codes.
